She did not introduce herself, so I don’t know if she was the owner or a manager or what, but she went on for five minutes about how every time someone emails the chef, the chef has to take her attention away from her job, which is to make pies. Another woman behind the counter whose back had been turned to me when I spoke to the first woman whirled around and started explaining to me in a very hostile tone that my expectations were completely unreasonable. I went up to the counter at the store and told the woman there that I was unhappy because I had just gotten an email that an order I placed on Monday wouldn’t be fulfilled. I happened to be out running errands when I got the email, so I figured I would drop by the store in person and find out what happened. I was surprised to get such a blunt email, with no acknowledgement that I had placed the order days earlier or any apology for the short notice that my order wouldn’t be fulfilled. On Friday afternoon, less than 24 hours before I expected to pick up my pies, I got an email from the chef saying there would be no key lime pies on Saturday. On Wednesday I emailed the chef, simply saying I wanted two key lime pies for Saturday. the chef directly in the next few days to communicate my order. The man who answered said yes, took down my information, and then suggested that I also email. I called them last Monday and asked if I could order two key lime pies for Saturday morning pick up. Very disconcerting customer service experience with Humble Pie. All of the food was great, not good or adequate, delicious!! More It's not elegant, but its clean and comfy. I'd say it's a great place to hang out and chat with friends and have some food. I certainly have had milk and pie for breakfast on many wonderful occasions. There are a few breakfast choices although I would think that some folks could enjoy the regular menu for breakfast. This could help you make a wise decisions as to what to order! Also, there is a taster for the dessert pies on the front counter. You can get more individual slices to try if you are sharing without busting your belt or wallet.

Individual slices work well for single persons eating a piece of pie. With our tikka masala, the individual pie was a great choice as I loved that crust. Two strategic note: I suggest that you get an individual pie to split if you suspect you will love the crust as it gives you more crust than a slice of the same pie. One or the other would have been perfection. Again, I might have skipped the syrup with dessert. I had never had a steamer before, but it was nice on that cool day. I just couldn't maintain a moaning ecstasy for the whole of dessert.

Our apple pie was good, but I think it may be better for me to have eaten less-either the savory or the sweet. It was a deep, delicious chocolate and whatever that white stuff was on top wasn't gooey or like a marshmallow. The smores pie surprised us with how delicious it was-I don't like smores, so I wasn't prepared to appreciate the pie. Our dessert pies were also delicious although we may have over ordered. The Denver Pie also was left without a crumb left behind. I generally eat only part of the crust, but I found myself choosing the crust rather than leaving it behind for my husband to eat. The tikka masala pie was good, but the crust was excellent. I had a steamer and the boys had coffee with dessert. masala individual pie and a slice of Denver pie (both savory) and later returned for apple pie and smores pie for dessert. One orders at the counter and kind young workers guided me through my choices. I entered the shop after having been primed for the visit by a wildly wonderful review in the Denver Post, praising the pies as the best ever.
